Our practice is built around adult care, with a focus on cosmetic, restorative, and full mouth work. We do see children, but only age 8 and below, and only at Dr. Shah's discretion. Families with older kids or teens are usually better served by a dedicated pediatric or family practice in the area.

The general guideline is by the first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming in. Early visits are short and mostly about getting your child comfortable, checking development, and giving you guidance on home care. They set the tone for how your child feels about the dentist for years to come.

The first visit is gentle and relaxed. Dr. Shah looks at the teeth that have come in, checks the gums and bite, and answers your questions about brushing, fluoride, and habits like thumb sucking. There is no pressure to do anything beyond a quick look if your child is not ready for more.

We see children age 8 and below, at Dr. Shah's discretion. For older children, teens, and the full range of pediatric care including braces and sports mouthguards, a dedicated family or pediatric practice is a better fit. We are happy to point you toward trusted options in the Bee Cave and Lakeway area.

That is normal, especially for a first visit. We keep appointments short, explain everything in language that fits their age, and never rush. Parents are welcome in the room. If your child needs a slow start, the first visit can be little more than a friendly look around. We meet them where they are.
