Yes. Digital x-rays use up to 80 percent less radiation than older film, and the dose from a full dental set is a small fraction of the radiation you absorb from a day of normal life. We use a lead apron and thyroid collar for every patient, and we never image more than we need to.

Tell us at check in. Routine x-rays are usually postponed during pregnancy unless there is a dental emergency. If imaging is medically needed, we use extra shielding and limit the area to what is essential. Your obstetrician's guidance always takes priority for non urgent care.
